Many of the nation’s largest school districts have been going to school virtually for the entire 2020-2021 school year. This includes students in the Chicago public school district. Unfortunately, virtual school has left many students without the help they needed to succeed – and that’s where Apollo After School stepped in.
Over the past few months some of our amazing Apollo instructors have worked hard to bring normalcy back into the lives of many of these children. Our instructors have been monitoring and assisting with virtual learning, providing brain breaks in between students’ online meetings, communicating with parents and teachers, helping students with time management, and incorporating projects, activities, and experiments from our curriculum throughout the day.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. That’s just what our teachers have done by creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere, while providing some much needed virtual learning assistance.
