Apple Pinch Pot

Supplies Needed:

  • Air dry clay
  • Acrylic paint

Step by Step:

  1. Roll air dry clay into a ball.
  2. Poke the center of the ball down and begin pinching the dough around in a circle to make a round bowl shape with an indent in the bottom.
  3. Use more clay to attach a stem and leaf.
  4. Leave out for 24-48 hours to dry and paint to look like a cut open apple.

Apple Boats

Supplies Needed:

  • Toothpicks
  • Thin foam sheets
  • Apples
  • Sink or bin filled with water
  • Straw
  • Knife

Step by Step:

  1. Use a knife to cut apples in half.
  2. Cut a sail shape out of foam and use your toothpick to attach the sail to the inside of the apple.
  3. Place the apples into a sink or bin of water. Use a straw to create wind and race the boats from one side to the other.

Apple Bubbles

Supplies Needed:

  • Apples
  • Water
  • Milk
  • Straw
  • Tablespoon measure

Step by Step:

  1. Use an apple corer or knife to cut out the center of your apple.
  2. Put 1-2 tablespoons of water in each apple. Use a straw to blow bubbles in the water and watch what happens (the apples will pop quickly before they get out of the apple.)
  3. Next, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to each apple. Use a straw to blow bubbles again and notice the difference between the water bubbles and the milk bubbles.

  • ¼ cup salt
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
