Smile-Inducing Lunchbox Notes

Smile-Inducing Lunchbox Notes

by Rachel Wells

Looking for a quick and simple way to tell your child how much you love them during the school day? It’s easy with lunchbox notes!

These short messages placed in your child’s lunchbox are a great way to cheer them up, make them laugh, let them know you are thinking about them, or remind them how much you love them. No matter what the reason, they are bound to put a smile on your child’s face.

And I know what you may be thinking… who has time to do another thing before school?! We aren’t suggesting you make mornings more complicated for yourself, so you can simply pre-write notes for the month (which ends up only being around 20 notes) and keep them in an envelope or box in the kitchen. When it’s time to pack your child’s lunch you can easily pull one out and toss it in the lunchbox.

Check out some fun lunchbox note ideas below:

Love Notes

Simple words of love can mean a lot! Try something like:

You have a wonderful smile!

Let your light shine today – it’s beautiful!

Remember how much I love you today!

You make me so happy!

You are one cool kid!

Corny Joke Notes

Surprise your child with a little laughter in their lunchbox.

Q: What do elves learn in school?

A: The elf-abet!

Q: How do you get straight A’s?

A: With a ruler!

Q: Where do crayons go on vacation?

A: Color-ado!

Q: How do bees get to school?

A: On a school buzzzzzzzz!

Words of Encouragement Notes

Most people can use extra encouragement, and mid-day is the perfect time to send your child a boost. Try something like:

Enjoy your recess! Remember to smile and be kind!

Yay! It’s lunchtime! See you at home soon!

Thank you for always trying your best! We are so proud of you!

You are a superstar!

The world needs leaders – you are one!

Memory Notes

Remind your child about a fun memory from the past weekend, a fun quote from a show you watched together the night before, or an inside joke.

Brain Teaser Notes

If your child enjoys solving puzzles, send a simple one for your child to solve at lunch time. You can write the answer on the back, or have them wait until they get home to check their answer with you.

What is a word that has 6 letters, but if you remove one letter you’ll be left with 12:

(Dozens)

What is always in front of you but can’t be seen?

(The future)

What starts with a P, ends with an E, and has thousands of letters?

(Post Office)

Fun Fact Notes

Send your child with some fun facts and conversation starters they can share with their friends. Try something like:

Did you know the Earth weighs about 13,170,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 pounds!

Did you know that a single elephant tooth can weigh 9lbs!
